Welcome to The Transfiguration Tour, an online journal for our 35-day trip across Europe in the summer of 2001.

Why The Transfiguration Tour, you wonder? Well, it all started with us talking about Harry Potter somewhere in London. A few jokes later, and after some philosophical debates on the nature of British beers and ales, we started thinking how this trip would expand our horizons, open our eyes, change us... transfigure us. There the name was born, the Transfiguration Tour.

Well, let's start our trip, shall we? First, let's meet the usual suspects:

Be aware that there was a fifth member in our party, Val. She, however, was not part of the Transfiguration Four, and indeed, was mostly a pain in the behind throughout most of the trip. She appears from time to time in the pictures and stories, but for the most part it is as if only the four of us had gone on the trip.

In order to follow our progress across Europe, the best thing to do is follow the links at the bottom of each page. That will give you our trip in chronological order. The Calendar can also be used to navigate chronologically by date, or to check out a particular date. Lastly, you can use the country links on the menu to the left. Except for the fact that we kept dipping in and out of England, it will still give you our trip chronologically (more or less).

So, go ahead and start checking out the various galleries. These are only some of the pictures, as combined we used more than 40 rolls of film! Have fun, we did.
