Back From Gen Con

I am finally back home after Gen Con (complete with an interesting story involving my flight back to Miami), having arrived last night at Midnight. I am still somewhat sleepy after having been awake for 35 hours straight the last day of the convention, but man, am I so excited about all the great things that happened at the con. I have caught up with my email, and now I am going through the audio I recorded at the show so I can start getting episodes out into the feed as soon as possible. I will later have a full Gen Con report both written and podcasted.

Out to Gen Con!

I am out the door and headed to Indianapolis for Gen Con 2007! I will be out from Wednesday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 19, and while I will have internet access in Indy, it will be spotty as I will be gaming my brains out. If you want to find me at Gen Con, I will be at the Podcasting 101 panel (Friday 8/17, 10-11 AM, Mariott Santa Fe), the Before Turning the Mic On Podcasting panel (Friday 8/17, 1-2 PM, Mariott Santa Fe), the Podcasting Fan Booth (Friday 8/17, 5-6 PM, Exhibit Hall Entrance), and at the Gaming Podcasting Party (Saturday 8/18, 7-9 PM, Hyatt Cosmopolitan B). Aside from these, I will be walking around doing interviews and just checking out the awesome games, not to mention playing, playing, playing. Just look for the big guy with an Irish hat (see below) and a Highmoon Media Productions or The Gamer Traveler Podcast t-shirt. Daniel See you next week!

Prepping for Gen Con

I am running around like a headless chicken trying to get everything done before leaving for Gen Con tomorrow. I even wanted to record a special episode of the podcast talking about it, but I just haven’t had the chance (yes, I will admit to a certain amount of time-wasting, but even so). I am super psyched!

I’ll try to come back later and write some more about it. I can tell you right now that packing for Gen Con has broken every single law of packing I have learned and lived by in the last 6 years; every single one. But, it is necessary if I want to be ready at the show (and eat, since I have to take all my meals with me).

More later.

In Episode 07 of The Gamer Traveler we visit Amsterdam, capital city of the Netherlands. We explore the city from the ground, checking out various locations across the central section of the city, and look at various ways to incorporate the city into games, from the Golden Age during the Renaissance, all the way to modern times.
